Each camper will attend an "elective" class of their choice. These classes are assigned on a first come/ first served basis. Classes fill up quickly. Make sure you choose your top 3 choices.
Description of 2011 Class Options:
Scrapbooking (all ages)
Ever wanted to learn how to make your own crafts and gifts for friends and family? Need ideas of what to make? This class will cost $10.00 per camper and is taken out of your canteen. This fee allows us to make more detailed crafts. Each camper enrolled in scrapbooking has the opportunity to learn the basic skills and techniques of scrapbooking and gift making. Throughout the week, you will make 3-4 projects that you can take home with you.
Drama (ages 9-11)
Do you like to act? Want to show off your skills on stage during skit night? This class is for you! Campers enrolling in drama will practice skits each day and perform on Friday evening for the camp.
Singing (all ages)
Calling all campers who enjoy singing! If you love to read music, learn to read music, or just plain sing songs, join the Bandina Chorus! This group of campers spend time each day in song. They may perform on Thursday or Friday night.
Men's Bible (all ages)
Spend your extra class hour each morning in Bible study. Enrich yourself with the Word and become closer to God.
Women's Bible (all ages)
This class is for our female campers and is led by a woman counselor. Participants are able to meditate on God's Word and draw nearer to Him.
Creation Science (all ages)
A class used to scientifically prove creation. True science agrees with the Bible and its scriptures. Some scientists believe that God didn't create the world and we evolved through evolution. Learn how the Bible, in fact, does scientifically prove creation!
Faith In Action (all ages)
Feel like you don't know exactly how to minister? Learn how to put your faith into action in your everyday life. This class will help you and give you ideas of how to minister each day.
Strengths Quest (ages 15-18)
Teens who take this course will first take a standardized inventory of likes, interests and skills online before camp. Their personal strengths will be determined, aiding them in life choices. During camp class time, the teens will look at Biblical characters with similar, personal skills, helping them determine how they might best serve God with their particular strengths. This class costs $10 (to be paid with camp fee).
Life and Dating for Men (ages 12-18)
This class will look to the Word of God to answer questions concerning ourselves, our bodies, and the opposite sex as teens begin the process of learning to choose our friends and even looking for a life mate.
LIfe and Dating for Women (ages 12-18)
This class will look to the Word of God to answer questions concerning ourselves, our bodies, and the opposite sex as teens begin the process of learning to choose our friends and even looking for a life mate.
Step Families (ages 12-18)
Many families today are “blended families”, consisting of members from two or even more families. This class will seek to understand some of these family dynamics and seek insights and strength from God’s Word to overcome some of these natural difficulties.
Fishing (ages 9-14)
Want to catch some fish? Need to learn how to bait your own hook? Come fish in the Medina River with us! This class is for boys and girls ages 9-14. You will use your own rod (which we provide) and fish under the shade trees of the river.
